St James’s Place to cut jobs

In a blow for Cirencester, one of the town's biggest employers is set to cut around 200 jobs.

St James's Place Wealth Management will make the cuts over the next few months, following a review of the business.

It's not clear how many of the jobs will be from the firm's Cirencester headquarters.

St James's Place started a review of its strategic priorities early last year. The review included making sure it had the right people in the right areas to move the business forward.

Priorities included the development of technology to make it easier to do business, which helped it to adapt throughout the pandemic.

To continue to develop the business, it is set to simplify processes and remove duplication of work in the coming months, leading to the loss of around 200 jobs across the business.

The firm's priority will be to redeploy people where possible and to provide support to all affected employees.
