Shower company produced essential ventilators

Cheltenham-based Mira Showers showed its flexibility during lockdown when it switched its production rom showers to ventilators.

The manufacturer refocused its expertise from producing a range of showers to supporting the NHS, by using its manufacturing and assembly knowhow to create integral PPE and critical care ventilators.

In just three weeks, Mira produced an all clean room environment of 2,500 sq. feet, provided assembly and test expertise for development and introduced and ran a new manufacturing system, as well as creating and training a dedicated team to assemble the ventilators.

The company also designed and produced 12,000 of its own prototype high quality face shields  for local NHS trusts from its Cheltenham and Hull based manufacturing sites.
