Shoplifting on the rise in Stroud

Shoplifting is increasing in Stroud town centre, according to police.

And the police say it's like to continue increasing in the run-up to Christmas, as reported by the Stroud News & Journal.

Police are warning shop managers and staff to be extra vigilant, and to think carefully about where more expensive items are displayed in store.

Members of the public are encouraged to keep their eyes open and report any suspicious activity to shop staff.

If a theft or shoplift has taken place, members of the public and shop managers should report it to police on 101.
