Sherbornes support major Gloucestershire success story

Netomnia, a Gloucestershire-based provider of full fibre broadband infrastructure, and internet service provider YouFibre recently announced that they had secured £295 million in funding led by DigitalBridge Investment Management.

They are one of the latest examples of a start-up business that has seen phenomenal growth with the support of Sherbornes Solicitors.

The business was founded by CEO Jeremy Chelot and non-executive chairman Callum Dick and was incorporated by Sherbornes in November 2019. Since then, Netomnia and YouFibre have developed a strong track record in the full fibre network sector and are committed to delivering a multi-gigabit broadband network across the UK.

Sherbornes has been a key supplier to each business, assisting them with securing their early funding and investment and providing business law and employment law services as well as acting as the registered office for the businesses.

The partnership between Netomnia and YouFibre has achieved more than 130,000 premises passed since the rollout that commenced in 2020 and their latest funding promises to build on this, aiming to connect 1 million homes in the next two years and ultimately becoming one of the top three providers of fibre connectivity.

Simon Birks, director and head of corporate for Sherbornes, said: "We are delighted to be working so closely with such a great Gloucestershire success story. We have worked with Callum and Jeremy for nearly 10 years on a number of different projects.

"It is very humbling for us that as they have grown, they have chosen to continue working with Sherbornes and to rely upon our support, rather than moving to a large firm in the City."

Callum Dick, non-executive chairman of Netomnia, commented: "Sherbornes have supported us throughout our journey. We always find their advice clear and grounded. The team understands us, and are comfortable advising on the smallest to the largest issue. We look forward to going from strength to strength, together."
