Seminar to tackle thorny employment issues

Davies and Partners' specialist employment law team is inviting employers to a free seminar to help tackle some of the latest, thorny employment issues.

The seminar is being held at two venues in Gloucester and Bristol on successive days in October.

The seminar will provide delegates with a better understanding of the latest legal implications on a range of issues and offer tips and advice on how to manage situations when they arise in the workplace.

Thorny issues being covered in the seminar include:

  • Long Covid - considerations required to accommodate employees suffering with Long Covid in the workplace
  • Social Media - a valuable tool in recruitment or a poison chalice?
  • Can an employee be dismissed for behaviour outside of the workplace?
  • Fire and rehire - is such practice likely to get you into hot water?
  • Menopause - the next protected characteristic? How to assist employees in the workplace
  • How do you manage personality clashes and squabbling employees at work?
  • Hidden disabilities - is lack of knowledge an outright defence? When is a reasonable adjustment unreasonable?

The first seminar will be a breakfast seminar on Wednesday, October 12, from 8am to 9.15am taking place at Rowan House, Barnett Way, Barnwood, Gloucester GL4 3RT.

The second event will be a lunchtime seminar on Thursday, October 13, from 1pm to 2.15pm at 250 Aztec West, Park Avenue, Almondsbury, Bristol BS32 4TR. Refreshments will be available at both seminars.

Nigel Tillott, director at Davies and Partners, said: "It's great to have our regular employment seminars back again after the Covid absence. They were always extremely popular and I must admit the team and I have missed them. There is something for everyone and, of course, it's free, so I do advise people to book early."

Numbers will be limited at the seminars. RSVP by Friday, September 30, to Matthew Verrier, stating choice of venue: matthew.verrier@daviesandpartners.com
