Matt Hancock, MP and secretary of state for digital, culture, media and sport made a special visit to The Wilson Museum and Art Gallery in Cheltenham last week.
Matt Hancock (pictured right) met Julie Finch, (centre) CEO of the Cheltenham Trust which runs the museum, along with Alex Chalk (pictured left), MP for Cheltenham, for a behind the scenes tour of the museum and art gallery. He then headed off for other appointments in the town.
Julie said: "Mr Hancock was particularly interested in how we combine arts, heritage and sport as a Trust, and the way they can work together to promote wellbeing. We also talked about the Culture is Digital report which sets out a framework for how culture and technology can work together to increase participation and boost the capability of cultural organisation."
"We were delighted that he made the time to visit the museum and mallery and also meet some of our staff and volunteers.''
The Cheltenham Trust is an independent registered charity focused on developing Cheltenham's culture and sport and runs The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, Cheltenham Town Hall, Pittville Pump Room, Leisure at Cheltenham and the Prince of Wales Stadium.
