Sales manager to walk 65 miles for Make-A-Wish
By Matt Hall | 7th November 2018
Faucets area sales manager, Mike Hayward, hopes that donations will come pouring in for his 65 mile walk from Cheltenham to Pontypool.
The mammoth challenge is all in aid of Make-A-Wish UK, the charity that grants life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses.
He will set out on Friday, November 9, and hopes to raise £1,000.
His journey should end sometime on Monday, November 12.
Mike will be waved off from Kohler Mira headquarters in Cheltenham and hopes to cover 20 miles on the first day, taking him beyond Gloucester and to the edge of the Forest of Dean.
Day two will be spent crossing the Forest to Bigsweir in the Wye Valley with day three taking him cross country as far as Usk. His colleagues at bathroom distributor Faucets, will welcome him home on Monday, day four, at their head office in Pontypool.
Mike said "I've recently lost 4 stone in weight and want to celebrate by doing something that is both a challenge to myself and will benefit others. Make-a-Wish do fantastic things for children and young people who are facing far greater challenges - I couldn't think of a better cause."
