Sales dip for Wickes

DIY giant, Wickes, has reported a slight fall in third quarter sales.

The retailer, which has stores in Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cirencester, saw Do It For Me (DIFM) like-for-like sales down 4.4% for the three months to 30 September, as reported by Retail Gazette.

It said this was partly down to delays due to changing to a new software solution for fulfilling customer orders.

Wickes said has been working to resolve the software issues, but that there would be some knock-on to delivered sales in the current quarter.

The retailer also said it was seeing a slow-down in sales, as customers are taking longer to decide about big ticket purchases.

Elsewhere in the business, like-for-like sales in the core division rose slightly by 1.1%

Wicks said is on track to meet its full year adjusted pre-tax profit of between £45.3m and £49m.
