Safe taken after thieves break into Cheltenham shop

Police are investigating a burglary at a Cheltenham jewellers during which a safe was stolen.

In the early hours of this morning, unknown offenders arrived at Montpellier Walk and forced their way in to Bick's of Montpellier.

A safe was taken from the premises and away from the scene.

Police are in the early stages of an investigation into the burglary and remain at the scene on one of Chetlenham's most prominent shopping streets.

Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area last night or in the early hours of this morning is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 and quote incident 35 of 25 July.
