Road collision leaves cyclist fighting for life

A pedal cyclist is in a critical condition after he was involved in a collision with a white Land Rover in Cheltenham.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision at 9.40 pm on Saturday night on the roundabout at the junction with Cold Pool Lane, Up Hatherley Way, Hatherley Road and Sandyfield.
Gloucestershire police said the cyclist, a 76-year-old man from the local area, sustained serious head injuries and was treated at the scene before he was taken by paramedics to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
He remains in a critical condition.
The road was closed until 2am while officers from the specialist collision investigation unit carried out investigations at the scene.
Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or saw the cyclist or motorist shortly beforehand.
