Road closures are in place following a serious collision in Berkeley on Friday afternoon (June 17).

Police were called to Saniger Lane in the Newtown area shortly after 2.40pm following a report of a collision between two vehicles.

Closures have been put into place between the Severn Road and Bridge Road roundabout, Station Road and the B4066 roundabout as well as between Saniger Lane and the Oldminster Road junction.

These are likely to remain in place for a number of hours with motorists asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes.

Emergency services remain at the scene at this time.
