Resurfacing work to take place on roundabout next to busy Stonehouse industrial estates
By James Young | 14th February 2020
A roundabout next to one of Gloucestershire's busiest business parks will be under five-way traffic lights next week during overnight resurfacing work.
The roundabout is the main route to the Oldends Lane Industrial Estate, Stroudwater Business Park, Bondsmill and Stonehouse Park tading estate.
The work which is part of the A419 Stonehouse improvement scheme will take place from 8pm until 6am from Sunday through to Thursday evening.
Residents of Avenue Terrace which sits directly to the east of the roundabout have been advised that there will be noise associated with the works.
However, in a statement, Gloucestershire County Council have said that "crews will carry out activities directly in front of Avenue Terrace before 11pm each night to try and minimise noise disturbance."
Andy Darkes, Project Manager for Highways Commissioning at Gloucestershire County Council, said: "Weather permitting the resurfacing work at Oldends Lane roundabout will be complete within the week.
"However please keep checking our social media and scheme webpage for updates.
"We thank residents, businesses and commuters for their continued understanding and support."
The work will get underway on Sunday evening when the existing road surface will be removed.
That work will be completed on Monday evening and Tuesday morning when new material will also be laid into deeper patches.
Over the next two nights the new surface course will be laid with the work being completed with the laying of new markings on Thursday into Friday.
If residents have any concerns or queries about the work, they are asked to contact contractors Knights Brown on 07818 432183 or via talktous@knightsbrown.co.uk
