A county restaurant is in the running for a prestigious national award.

Greek on the Docks next to Gloucester Docks has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Restaurant of the Year (South West category) of the Food Awards England 2018.

The winners will be announced at the 5th Food Awards in Manchester on October 15.

Greek on the Docks opened in 2016 and has gone from strength to strength with a strong local following both in Gloucester and the wider area.

Offering what it describes as modern Greek and Mediterranean food of "exceptional quality", the business was started by Georgios Karayiannis, his brother Yiannis and Georgios' wife Athina Kalaitzi.

The business is the culmination of the trio's years of experience running bars and restaurants in their native Greece, Germany and now Gloucester.
