Register to vote in Cheltenham

On Thursday, May 5, 2022, elections will be held to determine who will represent Cheltenham Borough Council and parish councils within Cheltenham.

The notice of election was published on Monday, March 28, marking the start of the election period.

Cheltenham residents wishing to vote in the borough and parish elections, who are not yet registered, need to register to vote online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Residents can check whether they're registered to vote by calling 01242 262626.

If you haven't registered by Thursday, April 14, you won't be able to vote. Registering is easy to do and only takes a few minutes online (you will need your National Insurance number when registering).

Anyone wishing to have a postal vote, postal proxy or to make changes to an existing postal vote for the elections on Thursday, May 5, must return their application form by 5pm on Tuesday, April 19.

Residents wishing to apply for a proxy vote (except for emergency proxies) should return their application form by 5pm on Tuesday, April 26. A proxy vote is having someone vote on your behalf.
