Re-appeal to identify people on CCTV following serious assault in Cheltenham

On Thursday, April 28, police released CCTV images of a number of people that officers wanted to identify after a man sustained serious head injuries during an assault in Cheltenham.

Since then, officers have identified eight people who have been spoken to and are now assisting with enquiries.

Despite this a number of people are yet to be identified and officers are continuing to ask anyone who recognises them to come forward.

Officers acknowledge that some of the photos aren't of a good quality but they are included in case someone recognises themselves or others.

Two men, who are both from Cheltenham and aged 23 and 31, were arrested earlier this month on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm. They were released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Anyone who may be able to help with the investigation or can identify those pictured is asked to please get in contact with police.

Police were called to Regent Street at 1.15am on Sunday, April 24, after it was reported that a man had been found unconscious outside 21 Club and had injuries to his head.

Officers attended along with paramedics and the 27-year-old was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment.

The man's condition deteriorated and he was transferred to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

You can provide information to police by calling 101 or completing the online form and quoting incident 26 of April 24.

Alternatively, you can submit information anonymously to the independent crime-fighting charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
