Rare chance to own a brand-new bungalow in the Forest of Dean

Single-story homes are routinely voted the most desirable property type for all age groups, but new-build bungalows are extremely rare.

Over the last decade, construction of single-storey homes has dramatically slowed, with only 300 built across the whole of the UK in 2018.

Welsh housebuilder, Bluebell Homes  are bridging the gap in the market by offering two-bedroom, semi-detached bungalows at its new River View development in Lydney.

Each of the bungalows feature an open-plan kitchen, dining room and lounge as well as a utility room, providing dedicated space for the washing machine and dryer.

Overlooking the Severn Estuary, the bungalows at River View are available from just £199,995.

Adele McCoy, sales manager for Bluebell Homes, said: "New-build bungalows are in short supply and often are included within retirement developments or as assisted living properties. At Bluebell Homes we pride ourselves in doing things differently and the fact that we're building bungalows at River View demonstrates this perfectly.

"People choose bungalows for all sorts of reasons, but for parents and more mature buyers, the obvious appeal is simplicity in the place of multiple floors.

"Given the huge demand for bungalows, Gloucestershire buyers will need to move fast to take advantage of this rare opportunity to own a new build design."

The development will feature play areas, exercise equipment and allotments, cycle hire facilities, and CCTV. Dedicated allotments are also available for residents to grow their own produce.

The historical town of Lydney is known as the gateway to the Forest of Dean and is around 10 miles from Chepstow and the M4. It is well served by a choice of schools and benefits from a wide range of shops and amenities too.

Help to Buy equity loans are available, offering home buyers the chance to secure a new home with a five per cent deposit and 75 per cent mortgage. The remaining 20 per cent is covered by an equity loan, which is interest free for five years.
