Raiders target jewellers shop

Police are hunting robbers who struck at a Gloucestershire jewellers.

The criminals raided the shop in Newerne Street, Lydney in the early hours of September 14.

"Unknown offenders smashed through the glass door of the premises and stole thousands of pounds worth of jewellery from glass cabinets in the shop," said a Gloucestershire police spokesperson.

"A member of the public saw two masked men get into a silver Volkswagon 7-seater car and drive off at speed towards Whitecroft on Forest Road.

"It's believed the getaway car was parked in Regent Street.

"We are appealing for further witnesses or anyone who has any information that may help us with our enquiries. Please call 101 quoting incident number 15 of 14 September 2018."
