Property search company donates thousands to charity this Christmas

X-Press Legal Services, a local property search company that provide reports to property professionals across Gloucestershire, has generously donated to various different charities for Christmas, hoping to bring some festive cheer this year.

As they have been unable to host events and training for their clients throughout the year, X-Press decided to donate the money they would usually spend on their events to charity this year. They asked each of their clients to nominate a charity to receive a donation this Christmas.

Owner of X-Press, Penny Brierley said: "2020 has been a very difficult year for many charities, with raising funds a much harder task, and therefore it seemed like the right thing for us to do. We were glad to be able to donate to a range of different local and national charities, all of which do amazingly well helping to support those in need throughout the year, particularly at Christmas."

Donations were made to various charities of their clients' choice, including: Wooden Spoon, The Chamwell Centre, The James Hopkins Trust, Sue Ryder Hospice, Cotswold Dogs and Cats Home, Churches Together in Ross and District Community Larder, Cheltenham Animal Shelter, The Pied Piper Appeal, Maggies, Severn Freewheelers, The Butterfly Garden Cheltenham, Parkinson's UK, Teckels, P3, Kate's Home Nursing, Winston's Wish, Spring Centre at Quedgeley, Stroud Women's Refuge, and The Charles Russell Speechlys Foundation.

Stroud Women's Refuge said: "It has indeed been a difficult year; for us, the need to enable families to distance from each other within the refuge has led to lots of extra spending, as has having children stuck inside - we have purchased many new toys and activity packs. This very generous donation will be so helpful; the money will help women and children in need."

The company also made a donation of £3,550 to Emmaus Gloucestershire, a charity which helps homeless people throughout the local area.

Alongside the monetary donation, X-Press also donated various essentials and supplies to the charity, including: ten 80 litre rucksacks, eight 50 litre rucksacks, 32 pairs of thermal socks, six pairs of waterproof trousers, and 12 boxes of mince pies, all of which will help with their rough sleeper support throughout the festive period.
