Properties secured after police launch drugs raid

Police have secured closure orders on properties in the Tredworth area of Gloucester after officers executed drugs warrants late on Friday night.

Temporary closure notices had been put in place at 80 High Street and 6 Carmarthen Street in Tredworth, which included the sheds/outbuildings at the rear of the addresses.

The orders run for three months and mean that no-one is allowed to access the property. A partial closure order was also secured for 80A High Street where only the registered tenant is allowed access to the address.

Three men were arrested during the drugs raid.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Smith, who led the operation, said: "This demonstrates partners working together to support the community and close down addresses where anti-social activity was taking place.

"We will continue monitoring the situation and I am hopeful that this shows how Gloucestershire Constabulary take drug dealing, anti-social behaviour and other areas that cause impact to the community in a negative way seriously.

"We are very keen to fight organised crime within our communities and please if anybody does have any information call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
