Games Workshop says it is in good shape, following an increase in its half year sales and profits.
In the six months to 2nd December, the miniature fantasy wargame retailer, which has stores in Gloucester and Cheltenham, saw sales rise to £125.2 million from £109.6 million in the previous year.
Operating profit and pre-tax profit were up from £38.1 million to £40.8 million in the same period, as reported by Retail Gazette.
Games Workshop said one of its main priorities is to offer stores the right product and sales support to help them recruit new customers. It also benefited from a strong online marketing.
Visits to its Warhammer Community were up by 30 per cent to almost a million visits a week.
Punchline said: "It's good to see that Games Workshop is still battling hard on the high street. It goes to show that, even in these tough times, retailers with a unique niche can still be a success."
