Profits soar at Dunelm

Profits jumped almost 35 per cent for homeware retailer Dunelm in its last full year.

Pre-tax profit at the retailer, which has stores in Gloucester and Cheltenham, rose to £209 million, as sales increased 18 per cent to £1.55 billion for the 53 weeks ended July 2.

Dunelm saw a growth in new shoppers in the year, with an 8.5 per cent increase in its active customers, as reported by Retail Gazette.

And the retailer said sales have remained 'robust' for the first 10 weeks of the current financial year.

Dunelm said it feels confident and well prepared for the current economic pressures. Having come back stronger from the pandemic, it feels it has the right tools in place to do that again.

It said in the current operating and economic environment, it is working hard to make every pound count, for both the business and its customers.
