ProCook crank up the heat with record trading figures

With stores in Gloucester Quays and Cirencester, ProCook reported biggest ever sales figures for the eight-week peak trading period to 5 January 2020.

The multi-channel Kitchen and dining ware retailer posted almost £10m in sales during the period which incorporates Black Friday and Christmas, a 20 per cent like-for-like increase on last year.

The increase was driven by a 13 per cent like-for-like lift in retail sales and a 28 per cent increase online.

ProCook founder Daniel O'Neill said: "Peak trading exceeded all expectations for the existing business model. Our retail growth was the stand out performance with a 13 per cent like-for-like increase - unheard of in today's retail climate."

Last year ProCook opened 13 high street stores from its acquisition of Steamer Trading and a further new unit in the Icon Outlet Shopping Centre at London's O2.

Total sales for the business including the new high street stores were up 45 per cent on the same period for 2018.

With more than 50 stores across the UK, a fast-growing eCommerce business and a strong international presence within seven European markets, the firm's headquarters is in Gloucestershire.

Mr O'Neill added: "The high street model has many challenges and we're working hard to overcome these and make progress in this area.

"Our strong results can be attributed to both the strength of the team at ProCook and the introduction of many new products including an extensive table top range.

"Although cautious we are confident of continued success in 2020."
