Prime Promenade site could become a bar or restaurant

A new venture is set to rise from the ashes of one of the recent shop closures on Cheltenham's Promenade.
Punchline has reported on three high-profile departures from the prime shopping street in the past months.
LK Bennett closed its doors for the final time on Tuesday following the company's decision to cut its retail portfolio.
Last week, Punchline broke the news about how Cheltenham's Gap store, just a short walk from the LK Bennett outlet was on the market to prospective new tenants.
And now plans that have been lodged with Cheltenham Borough Council highlight a possible new use - or new uses - for another Promenade store.
Karen Millen announced earlier in August that the online section of their business had been sold and that its retail stores were set to close.
They currently occupy premises at 60 Promenade and little time has been wasted in the property being looked at by prospective new occupiers.
Two change of use applications have been filed with Cheltenham Borough Council with both seeking permission to change the store from retail use.
The applications, filed by Cheltenham-based surveyors Downing Bentley on behalf of parent company ARC Retail, are to change the premises to a café or bar.
Two separate applications have been filed, one to change the use to A3: Food and Drink - used by restaurants, cafes, bars or shops that sell hot food.
The other is for a A4 Use: as premises where the primary purpose is the sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks.
No further information is supplied, other than an outline floorplan for the site, which show a large groundfloor space and an upper and lower mezzanine area.
The plans will no go to consultation with a target date of being decided by council planners in October.
