Primark to trial click-and-collect

Primark, one of the few retailers not to sell online, is to pilot a click-and-collect service.

The value fashion retailer, which has stores in Cheltenham and Gloucester, will begin to offer click-and-collect on children's products later this year from up to 25 stores in the North West, as reported by Retail Gazette.

It believes using children's products for the trial will help to drive higher footfall, from both existing and new customers, and boost sales in stores.

The click-and-collect service will offer 2,000 options across children's clothing, accessories and lifestyle products, with around 40 per cent available exclusively to click-and-collect shoppers.

The retailer said offering the bigger range will be attractive to customers who don't regularly shop at its larger stores, as they will be able to buy a much bigger range than is available at average size stores.

The click-and-collect service will be free for Primark customers and returns will also be accepted free of change in stores.

Orders will be processed and dispatched from a dedicated UK distribution centre, with picking and packing initially carried out manually.
