Popular Stroud pub to close its doors

A popular Stroud district pub will close its doors on Saturday.

The Hog at Horsley will be closing its doors as the long-standing landlord has decided to leave the area.

In a statement released to the Nailsworth Town Facebook page, landlord Roy Human confirmed that Saturday would be the last day of trading at the Freehouse.

The statement said: "We are closing on Saturday with great sadness. But we hope that somebody will take the pub on and are able to make a great success of it. Regards Roy."

Mr Human is moving back to Leeds and the Nailsworth Town Facebook page said "we would like to wish him the very best for the future."

It is understood that the pub is in private ownership and that there have been expressions of interest in taking the pub on.
