Popular Gloucestershire hotel sold in £2.9million deal

A Gloucestershire hotel has been sold together with another hotel in the Lake District.

Lindors Country House Hotel in St Briavels, Forest of Dean and Abbot Hall Hotel, Cumbria have been bought for a combined guide price in excess of £2.9 million.

The properties have been sold by Christian Guild Hotels, represented jointly by Savills and Musson Liggins, to Carlauren Group.

Lindors Country House Hotel has 23 en-suite bedrooms, five lodges, three conference rooms and the 64-cover Stowes restaurant. It is set in 24.4 acres of grounds with the main section of the property built in the 1830s and has a wing dating back to 1660.

The hotel has tennis courts, swimming pool and bowling green and is situated in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Located in Grange-over-Sands, Abbot Hall Hotel was built in 1840 and provides 36 bedrooms in the main house plus a 14-bedroom bungalow, five lodges and separate owner's accommodation.

Tom Cunningham, hotels director at Savills, said: "Both of these historic hotels benefit from a robust business and leisure trade, attracting interest from a wide range of investors. We are pleased with the strong sale price achieved on behalf of Christian Guild Hotels."
