Police chase down thieves after they strike at Cirencester business

Police apprehended four men following a high-profile chase across Gloucestershire yesterday afternoon following a burglary at a Cirencester business.

Shortly before 12.20pm, police received a report of a burglary at Western Computers in Cricklade Street in Cirencester.

A group of men had stolen three valuable computers from the Apple specialist store and ran off down the street.

They got into a grey VW Passat and drove off, by which time officers were on the hunt for the thieves.

Chasing on foot and in cars, as well as using specialist dogs and a drone, officers searched Stroud, Harebushes, Painswich and the Salmon Springs estate.

Two men were arrested by 1pm with the other two apprehended shortly afterwards. All four of the men were taken into custody.

A vehicle and all of the computers were recovered.

Anyone with information about the incident should call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 156 of 22 January.
