Mass brawl at Cheltenham business

Shoppers got a little more than they bargained for at a Morrisons supermarket in Gloucestershire yesterday evening (September 20) when a mass fight broke out.

Police were called to the Cheltenham store in Caernarvon Road Up Hatherley just after 7.05pm after reports a fight was taking place.

"It's believed that six men were involved in the fight which began inside the supermarket before moving outside," said a police spokeswoman.

"One man is thought to have damaged a parked car with a hammer."

One shopper took to Twitter to describe the moment: "Go to Morrisons for a lemon meringue pie and it all kicks off at Up Hatherley with a punch up #unexpected."

If you were in the supermarket at the time or have any information which may help police with their enquiries please call 101 quoting incident number 377 of September 20.
