Police appeal after man threatened with a knife in Cheltenham

Police in Cheltenham are investigating an incident in which a man was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery in the St Marks area.

The incident happened at about 7pm on Monday, March 25, in Church Road.

A 30-year-old man was approached by another man who demanded that he hand over his phone and wallet.

A third man intervened and the offender ran off empty-handed.

He is described as being white, 20 to 30-years-old, wearing a grey hooded jumper and dark coloured jeans. He had his face covered and he was carrying a 6" kitchen knife.

He ran off in the direction of the Shell garage and TGI Fridays in Gloucester Road.

There were no injuries and nothing was stolen.

Investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and either witnessed the incident or saw the offender as he ran away.

Anyone with information is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 404 of 25 March.
