Attempted serious sexual assault in park

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after an attempted serious sexual assault in Gloucester.

The incident took place in the city's park off Trier Way and Park Road at around 10.15am on Sunday, December 23.

A woman had been walking through the park when she was approached by a man who told her he needed to use the toilet, before entering the public conveniences.

The woman also needed to use the toilet, but once inside she was grabbed by the man who attempted to sexually assault her.

The offender is described as white, in his thirties or forties, an estimated 5ft 10ins tall, and wearing blue jeans along with a top and jacket.

Police think the man had been dropped off in a white van which stopped on Park Road. Enquiries into this are currently ongoing.
