Armed man in attack at business

A man wielding a kitchen knife and wearing a balaclava is being hunted by police after robbing a staff member at a company on a Cheltenham business park.

The raid took place on Space Business Centre off Tewkesbury Road heading north west out of the town on Monday (January 7) afternoon.

A member of staff was threatened after the man, described as six feet two inches tall, slim build and wearing something akin to a balaclava, got onto the business premises demanding money.

"When the member of staff said that there was no money on the premises the offender threw stock around and caused damage to some of the property before making off with a mobile phone belonging to the member of staff," said a statement from the police.

The man is believed to have left the scene on a dark-coloured push bike.

It is understood the member of staff was not physically injured in the incident, but was described as "very shaken".

The robbery took place between 1.45pm and 1.55pm.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and saw the offender, or has any other information which would help them with their enquiries.
