Plans for shepherd’s huts move a step closer

Plans for holiday accommodation at an orchard near Winchcombe have been approved.

Little Orchard Hideaways in Hailes originally got planning permission for 10 shepherd's huts for use for short-stay holidays in May 2022.

Plans were also approved at the time for car parking and conversion of a barn to create a facility building for the site.

Now Tewkesbury Borough Council has approved more detail of the colour of the huts and the layout of the site.

The council has agreed that most of the shepherd's huts will be treated, natural wood and has approved plans for one hut to be painted pastel blue and one to be painted pale green.

It also approved the scheme's Ecological Mitigation and Enhancement Strategy, carried out by Focus Environmental Consultants, which stipulates the measures to be taken to protect wildlife and habitats on the site.

The council's original decision stated that there will be no more than 10 pitches, to be used only for the shepherd's huts/ cabins and not for any other for caravans, either static or touring.

It also stipulated that the site will be used for short term holidays only and won't be occupied by any individual family or group for more than a month in any 12-month period.
