Plans approved for two new high-end Cheltenham homes

Architectural practice Coombes everitt has been granted planning permission by Cheltenham Borough Council for two new high-end homes.

Located opposite Dean Close School, 88 Lansdown Road was originally constructed as a private house in the 1950s and has undergone a number of extensions over the years. The property was, until recently, used as a bed and breakfast business.

The approved designs are for two four-bed, flat glass-roofed dwellings. The site backs onto the local railway line and is in the borough's conservation area, and Coombes everitt said the design has been developed to take this into account.

The current open frontage and vista along the road will be maintained, in keeping with the local environment.

Coombes everitt added that the homes have been designed with sustainability in mind, including high levels of efficient insulation, low energy and low water use fittings and appliances, and provision for electric vehicle charging.

Work on the new homes will begin in early 2022.
