Pied Piper golf day raises tee-rific amount

The Pied Piper Golf Day returned last Friday, July 1, with more than 100 players competing at Brickhampton Golf Course Complex.

The annual event raised more than £14,000 for the Pied Piper Appeal, which will make a difference to the sick and disabled children in Gloucestershire.

The winning team, made up of Jonathan Viney, Mark Osborne, Simon Pigott and Nick Bracey, scored 133 points and were presented with the Rob Freeman memorial trophy by Chris and Joe Freeman.

More than £8,500 was also raised as part of a charity auction on the day.

Nick Broady, owner of Avenue cars and chairman of the Pied Piper Appeal, said: " A big thank you to all the local businesses that supported the day, a big shout out to Brinkhampton golf course for all their cooperation, help and support as always.

"Of course, I can not forget all the fantastic volunteers that make the day possible. Every penny raised will go to the sick and disabled children in our county".
