PICTURES: Tayntons Solicitors charity quiz raises £1,000 for Maggie's

A team of brainboxes from Hazlewoods were crowned as more than £1,000 was raised for Maggie's in the Tayntons Solicitors charity quiz.

Brickhampton Court Golf Complex played host to 14 teams drawn from Gloucestershire business for the annual quiz.

And after 10 rounds of teasers - including a playdough round - it was the team called 'Beer today, gone tomorrow' from Hazlewoods who took the prize.

Jaron Crooknorth, a partner at Tayntons, was the quizmaster for the evening and he thanked those present for raising £1,061 for Maggie's - the Cheltenham-based cancer support centre.

In the playdough round, the teams were given instructions to build a 'Gloucester-themed' model with the winning old spot pig from the Ash and Co team, almost museum worthy for its accuracy.

The Punchline team - who finished a creditable sixth on the night - were probably the worst of the modellers in the room with their brave attempt to recreate the cheese rolling falling somewhat flat.
