Opening date revealed for new Cheltenham restaurant

Almost all of the 20 new jobs at being created by what will soon to be Cheltenham's newest restaurant have been filled.

The business behind the Son of Steak has revealed only four positions remain ahead of their expected opening date.

The Brewery Quarter restaurant is expected to open on Monday, September 23.

Owners Mitchell and Butlers has been operating one of its Harvest businesses from Unit 4 at the popular retail and leisure site and revealed its plans earlier this summer.

It will be the business's second Son of Steak - the only other being in Nottingham where it is billed as serving "great steak without the fuss"

In the promotional material on its website Son of Steak says "we don't want food to be fussy, we just want food to be good. Like really good.

"So there's no need to dress up, no need for a special occasion to treat yourself at Son of Steak. Just come with a smile and we'll provide the rest."

The Son of Steak will be in a prime position in the Brewery Quarter, opposite the soon-to-expand Cineworld complex and within a stone's throw of other bars and restaurants.

Employee benefits for new staff include 33 per cent discounts for themselves and five friends at 1,700 pubs across the UK, 28 days' holiday allowance, shopping discounts, company share schemes and a pension plan.

Four roles remain including two chefs and two front-of-house staff.
