Open morning at King’s School

The King's School in Gloucester is holding an open morning this Saturday (5th October).

King's is the city's leading independent day school, providing a forward-thinking, pupil-centred and inspirational education. King's has just over 600 pupils, girls and boys, aged 3 to 18. It offers academic excellence, outstanding pastoral care and a unique programme to identify and develop individual talents, with a special sense of identity provided by its Cathedral setting.

Increasingly, families throughout Gloucestershire are sending their children to King's for a great all-round education. Scholarships, bursaries and a countywide bus service make it easily accessible.

The excellent 2019 A level and GCSE results demonstrate King's tradition of academic success. The A Level pass rate was 98 per cent, with over 50 per cent of the grades at A*, A or B. At GCSE, 21 per cent of grades were 9 or 8 (A*) and 38 per cent were top passes at grades 9-7 - well above the national average of 20 per cent.

But the school's ambition for its pupils does not begin and end with exam results. King's prides itself on developing well-rounded individuals. Music, sport and drama play a very important role in school life and pupils are actively encouraged to participate in the many extra-curricular activities on offer.

Headmaster David Morton said: "For all achievements and results, however, it is the feel of a school that is important. Visitors are often struck by the strong sense of community, and importantly, as a day school, family time is valued, with no Saturday school (although plenty of sport and extra-curricular activities are on offer!)."

The best way to find out more about King's is to visit the school and experience this unique environment for yourself.

The open morning takes place on Saturday 5th October between 9.30am and 12.30pm. For further information on the open morning, or to arrange an individual tour, contact the Admissions Team on 01452 337337 or email admissions@thekingsschool.co.uk . www.thekingsschool.co.uk
