HMV has posted a huge boost in sales due to the reunion of rock band Oasis after 15 years.
Revenues shot up 526% week on week across the band's full catalogue, as fans flocked to the music and entertainment retailer following news Oasis would be performing multiple live shows next year, Retail Gazette reported.
Sales of Oasis' debut LP Definitely Maybe rose 443% compared to the previous week, while their albums (What's the Story) Morning Glory? and Knebworth 1996 were up 684% and 209% respectively.
HMV has a store in Cheltenham's Regent Arcade and the retailer reopened its iconic Oxford Street flagship store in November, following a four-year absence from trading.
The central London location is where the retailer opened its first store back in 1921, with the return to its original home dubbed as the final stage of HMV's "dramatic turnaround" under Doug Putman.
The retailer also saw profits soar earlier this year thanks to resurgence of vinyl.
