Cotswold Cycles - at the forefront of a Revolution

A shared passion for cycling has produced a double-headed business proving a hit in the Cotswolds and beyond.

Riding tandem in the joint venture are husband and wife duos Jeremy and Sarah Griffiths and Tracey and Andrew Hutchings.

The latter run the now well-established Cotswold Cycles in Moreton-in-Marsh, and the Griffiths, with a little help also from daughter Rhiannon, run The Revolution Café, on the same site off the A44 East of the town.

"We have been here since 2011. We retail bikes, accessories, parts, we have a work shop, do servicing, kids' bikes, electric bikes, clothing and we are open Saturday and Sunday too - when we get quite busy," said Tracey, a former dispensing optician.

Husband Andrew is a former chief executive officer for Blackwell of Oxford, the book shop, also a passionate cyclist.

Brands include Trek, Frog, Castelli, Bontrager, Met, Kask, Lezyne, Camelback, Muc-Off, Tacx, Garmin, DT Swiss, Stealth, Torq, Clif, and Veloforte.

A sperate business, but very much presented as a partnership, is The Revolution Café.

"Cycling and coffee and cake go well together. People like to stop off after a ride. We do good healthy food, paninis, baguettes, cake," said Jeremy, a former interior designer.

And together they are proving a hit - especially on a weekend when riders from within a 100-mile radius now have the location down as a destination-come-watering hole or great place to start and end a ride.

"On Sunday mornings we can get 90 to 100 people through the doors in about an hour to an hour and a half," said Jeremy, explaining there was also a third strong to the bow of the businesses - the North Cotswold Cycling Club had also decided to adopt the premises as its headquarters.
