Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce has become the 75th sign up to the No Child Left Behind community agreement, enhancing links between the partnership project, its members and the town's business community.

To mark the occasion Cllr Sandra Holliday, mayor alongside Cllr Flo Clucas, presented the No Child Left Behind community agreement plaque to Chamber of Commerce corporate social responsibility member and ambassador executive Claire Thayers.

The plaque will be displayed at the Chamber offices as a commitment to working in a way that reflects kindness, empathy and understanding.

Cllr Flo Clucas member for safety and communities said: ''It is wonderful to welcome Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce as our 75th member to the NCLB community agreement.

"The Chamber of Commerce have done a tremendous amount to support many families in Cheltenham and I am delighted they have signed up to the agreement as by doing so, they will help many more.''

As more research is being published about the effects of childhood trauma on individuals, the NCLB project wants to ensure Cheltenham is a place where everyone has the opportunity to thrive and people understand the importance of mental wellbeing, inclusivity and kindness.

Cheltenham Chamber of Commerce chief executive, Michael Ratcliffe said: ''We are committed to supporting young people across our town.

"The last two years have shown us just how important it is for businesses to work together and support each other, and Cheltenham's unique 'family of businesses' at the Chamber are here to help. We will ensure our practice conveys the No Child Left Behind community agreement values.''
