Burglary at Gloucester business

Nine men have been arrested following a burglary at a commercial property in Gloucester in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, April 13).

Police were called shortly after 5am with a report that a group of men in hi-vis clothes and balaclavas were taking items from an address on Russell Street and loading them on to a van.

When officers arrived, several men ran off on foot while the van made off from the scene.

The van was later spotted by officers who were able to bring it safely to a stop near to Hartpury. Three men, all from London, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and remain in police custody.

A further two men, also from London, who ran from the scene were apprehended by officers and arrested. One man was taken into custody while the other was taken to hospital after injuring his leg while trying to evade officers.

Four further men have been arrested by the Metropolitan Police in London this morning in connection with the burglary.

All the men remain in police custody while enquiries continue.

Anyone with additional information about the incident, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage which they believe to be relevant, is asked to contact Gloucestershire Police on 101, quoting incident 68 of April 13.

Alternatively, you can use the online form on the Constabulary website.
