Nine arrests and police appeal for witnesses following incident in Cheltenham

Police are appealing for information in connection with an incident in Cheltenham on Sunday (May 2) where a man suffered suspected stab wounds.
Eight men and one boy have been arrested in connection with an incident where a man suffered a suspected stab wound to his back Sunday night around 11pm.
At 11.50pm police were called by the ambulance service to lower Cheltenham High Street with a report that a man had sustained a suspected stab wound.
He was taken to Southmead Hospital by the ambulance service and has since been released and is in a stable condition.
Two 18-year-old men from Cheltenham were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A 21-year-old man from Tyne and Wear was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A 25-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm. A 17-year-old boy from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm.
An 18-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. A 23-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
A 20-year-old man from Cheltenham was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and possession of a class B drug. A 22-year-old man from Evesham was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and affray.
It appears that all those involved knew each other.
