Newland Homes celebrates development milestone

The Barnwood-based housebuilder has revealed its sales success at Redwing Gate in Cam, where 75 per cent of the new homes have been sold in less than nine months; marking a new development milestone for the firm.

Newland Homes said it has experienced a record number of transactions in 2021 and there's no sign of this abating in 2022, as people prioritise after the pandemic and look for more flexible living space.

The number of people currently looking to buy a property is 20.5 per cent higher than the average for 2020 according to Zoopla, and the South West has been particularly affected by the lack of homes for sale, creating a mismatch between supply and demand.

A total of 41 new sustainable, entirely open-market, homes are being built at Redwing Gate; a mix of detached and terraced properties ranging in size from one bedroom through to four bedrooms, the design of which is said to have been influenced by the character of Cam and Coaley.

Each detached home will benefit from Solar PV panels, marking a significant contribution to the sustainable credentials of these homes and resulting in a circa 20 per cent reduction in carbon emissions for these properties.

With just 11 remaining properties, Newland Homes is urging people thinking of a move next year not to delay. For those with properties still to sell, the company has a range of services available to assist with your move, including helping sell your existing home or considering part exchange.

Debbie Goodwin, sales consultant at Redwing Gate, said: "The homes at Redwing Gate are attracting significant attention due to their environmentally friendly credentials and visitors to our showhome are particularly enamoured with the hedgehog highways which are dotted through the development, allowing hedgehogs to move freely in order to find food.

"All remaining homes are currently eligible for the Help to Buy Equity Loan Scheme, which is a Government-backed scheme that lends first time buyers up to 20 per cent of the cost of a new build home, interest free for the first five years. This is a rarity in Gloucestershire, as recent research has shown that only 1.7 per cent of homes on the market in the county are eligible for Help to Buy."

One such example is the two-bedroomed Sapperton home, a semi-detached property with a spacious lounge leading onto the garden through wide-aspect French doors. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms plus a family bathroom. Prices start from £260,000.

Properties at Redwing Gate also boast pre-installed superfast fibre broadband and are wired for an electric car charging point where possible.
