New £11 million mill development goes to planners
15th November 2017
Stroud district councillors are to decide whether to approve a £11 million mixed residential and business development.
The scheme at Rooksmoor Mills, Bath Road, Woodchester includes 54 flats, parking for 100 cars and 1,300 square metres of commercial floor space (uses with classes B1,B2 and B8).
There is also the reinstatement of a mill pond, construction of new access and the refurbishment of a cottage building.
This is a revised version of previous applications which had been approved. It is being recommended for approval by council officers.
Members of Stroud District Council's Development Control Committee will consider an extensive 59 page report on the application from Rooksmoor Mills Ltd and architects Stride Treglown at its meeting on November 21.
Some residents living nearby are concerned about possible impact on the local heritage and want it to be low-rise, the Stroud News and Journal reports.
