New managing director to lead St. Modwen Logistics

Developer St. Modwen has announced the appointment of Polly Troughton as managing director for its fast-growing £600m plus St. Modwen Logistics business.

With one of the UK's largest logistics development pipelines at c. 19m sq ft, the appointment comes as St. Modwen Logistics plans to deliver a further c. 1.5m sq ft of new urban and big box logistics units in 2021, 25 per cent more space than 2020.

In her new role, Ms Troughton will be responsible for the strategic leadership, continued growth and performance of St. Modwen Logistics, which manages the full property lifecycle, including development, delivery, customer acquisition and retention.

Polly joins with extensive experience from across the real estate sector. Most recently she was group investment director at student accommodation provider, Unite Group, where she also sat on the Executive Committee. Prior to that, Polly was head of portfolio at Landsec, where she spent eight years working across its retail portfolio.

She said: "With one of the largest logistics development pipelines in the UK I am excited to be joining to lead St. Modwen's dedicated and highly ambitious logistics business.

"St. Modwen has already established itself as a major player in the sector and, with nearly half of the company's asset value now invested in this growing sector, I look forward to working alongside the outstanding team to build on the significant achievements to date."

Sarwjit Sambhi, CEO at St. Modwen added: "Polly is joining us at an exciting time as we continue to accelerate the growth of St. Modwen Logistics to serve growing customer demand for space."
