New store heading for former M&S site

An award-winning furniture store is set to open at Cheltenham's Kingsditch Retail Park.

Leekes, a family-owned retailer based in South Wales, will take over the unit previously occupied by M&S Home, which closed earlier this year.

Work to transform the site will begin at the end of September, with the opening planned for November.

The store will stock a range of branded and own-brand products including sofas, dining sets, occasional furniture, beds and kitchens. There will also be a variety of home accessories, including pictures, mirrors, lighting, bedding and cushions.

The new Leekes store will also have a café, serving hot and cold drinks and sweet and savoury snacks.

Emma Leeke, managing director of Leekes, said: "We are incredibly excited to be bringing our inspirational collection to Cheltenham, a location where we have been keen to establish a presence in for many years. The site on Kingsditch Retail Park is perfect for us, and we cannot wait to share our range of stylish, quality products with the local community."

Leekes is currently looking for staff to join the Cheltenham store team.

The M&S Foodhall also closed at Kingsditch in the summer. Work is now underway on a new M&S Foodhall at the neighbouring Centrum Park on Tewkesbury Road, due to open next summer.
