New leadership for Gloucestershire charity

Lilian Faithfull Care have announced that Suzanne Booker has taken over as interim chief executive, as Martin Hughes moves on to new challenges.

Suzanne has worked for the charity for 27 years, leading Astell House, St Faith's and Faithfull House, before taking on the new role of director of care 8 years ago.

She is well known in Gloucestershire as co-chair of the Gloucestershire Care Providers Association (GCPA) and winner of the 2022 Natalie Bonner Award, for dedication in health & social care in the county.

Suzanne Booker, interim chief executive of Lilian Faithfull Care said: "I feel very humble and privileged to take on this role. When I started on my journey at Astell I did not imagine having this opportunity.

"A big focus for me will continue to be looking after and caring for our residents and our staff. It is a huge responsibility, but it feels a natural progression and I know our charity can meet the challenges of our times."

Suzanne will continue as director of care; a newly established team will support her in this role to ensure care standards are maintained while she takes on the new responsibilities.

She added: "We extend our thanks to Martin, who has worked for the charity for over 12 years and wish him all the best in his new role."
