New hotel and restaurant to open at the Quays

Gloucester's newest hotel and restaurant will open for business on Friday.

A Premier Inn, creating more than 50 jobs, and Beefeater eatery will be launched as part of the Bakers Quay development next to Gloucester Quays.

The new hotel boasts more than 100 rooms and brings the number of Premier Inn hotels throughout the UK to 785. The £9 million development has been completed by Gloucester-based Barnwood Construction.

Paul Smith, acquisitions manager in the South West for Premier Inn's parent company said it would form an important part of the regeneration of Gloucester Docks.

It reflected strong demand for Premier Inn bedrooms from customers visiting the city on business and leisure.
