New GP surgery planned for Tetbury

A development of 28 homes and purpose-built medical centre is being planned for Tetbury.
Stonewood Partnerships Ltd based in Tormarton has exchanged contracts for the 5.35 acre Worwell Farm site.
It is now preparing a detailed planning application for the buildings and improved public footpath links to the Tetbury Trail.
The site sits near the junction of Cirencester Road and Jasmine Gardens.
James Petherick, land and planning director for Stonewood, said: "I'm absolutely delighted with this site exchange and excited to commence work on our planning application in conjunction with the landowner and Dr Hill together with our excellent consultant team.
"This site presents a fantastic opportunity for a purpose built medical centre together with other public benefits including a better link through to the Tetbury Trail.
"This, together with high quality and sustainable housing, will present a great addition to the town."
The company is designing the project in partnership with the Phoenix Health Group. It merged with Romney House Surgery in 2017 and runs the surgery in Long Street.
It has been looking for a place to build a new surgery for a while. It had earmarked a site next to Tetbury Hospital for a proposed relocation but the plan fell through when the land was taken off the market.
Dr Peter Hill of Phoenix Health Group said: "We are very excited to have an opportunity to build a new GP surgery for Tetbury at Worwell Farm.
"The lease for our existing premises expired in July 2021 and our landlords kindly extended it until January 2025.
"New premises will then be needed to keep a GP surgery in Tetbury. We hope to create a bespoke purpose built facility that will improve patient experience and keep services local as well aiding recruitment of healthcare staff to the area."
They have not said what will happen to the existing surgery site.
