New Gloucester headquarters for ProCook

A leading logistics developer is to work with ProCook on developing a 167,000 sq ft warehouse in Gloucester.

St. Modwen Logistics has been engaged by the Gloucester-based kitchenware brand to develop the huge warehouse - the company's third St. Modwen Logistics facility in the region.

The move comes after ProCook experienced a 30 per cent growth in trade for 2020-21 compared to the previous year.

The new warehouse will help to drive efficiencies by consolidating operations from its two existing premises under one roof.

It will provide space for product development, a photography studio, significantly enlarged warehouse operations and ProCook's head office, bringing together 220 employees in one location.

Polly Troughton, managing director at St. Modwen Logistics, said: "We are committed to providing our customers with the space and support they need to succeed. ProCook has experienced rapid growth over the last 10 years and this warehouse will further support its commitment to growth, sustainability and employee wellbeing.

"We build strong, long-term relationships with our customers. This has enabled us to work closely with the ProCook team and respond to their specific requirements for their new headquarters - creating a tailored building that will serve the customer's needs both now and into the future."

Steve Sanders, COO at ProCook, said: "It's great to be teaming up with St. Modwen Logistics on this project, as we've always enjoyed working with them and their focus on ESG aligns with our values. Our move to a new, much larger premises reflects ProCook's success story over the past few years and we're excited to move in."

Working closely with Benniman Construction Group, St. Modwen Logistics is developing a tailored build to suit to ProCook's specific requirements. The office space will comprise 18 per cent of the building, rather than the standard five to seven per cent. The unit will also include a training hub, which will sit at the front of the building and provide training space for warehouse employees.

The new warehouse, built in accordance with the St. Modwen Swan Standard responsible business guidelines, supports ProCook's sustainability targets and will deliver a BREEAM Excellent and EPC A rating, through the inclusion of features such as rainwater harvesting and EV charging points. The inclusion of skylights will allow natural light into the warehouse, which will reduce energy usage.

Employee health and wellbeing has also been considered throughout the design of the warehouse and the wider park. ProCook employees will have access to outdoor exercise equipment, a running track and outdoor eating spaces, as well as an indoor gym and a full canteen.
